Un critique d'art vieillissant retourne chaque jour dans une salle du musée de Vienne pour contempler un tableau du Tintoret, tandis qu'il dialogue avec un ami écrivain et un gardien et médite sur l'art, la société et sa propre existence.

An aging art critic returns daily to a room in the Vienna Museum to contemplate a painting by Tintoretto, while conversing with a writer friend and a janitor, and pondering art, society, and his own existence.
